Jewish Roots of the Faith “For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile." (Romans 1:16 CJB) “So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God's people and members of God's family. You have built on the foundations of the emissaries and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself.” (Eph 2:19-20 CJB)
This section of the website is devoted to exploring and understanding the Hebrew foundation of the New Covenant Writings (commonly called the New Testament). |

Articles The Defamation Against Zacchaeus Abstract: For centuries Bible expositors have treated Zacchaeus as a virtual criminal, guilty of all manner of offenses including theft, fraud, extortion, and bribery. Zacchaeus was certainly guilty in the court of public opinion, but a close examination of the evidence yields a very different picture. (5 pages) Eucharist or Messianic Passover?
Abstract:
Christians have been taught for centuries that Jesus inaugurated an
entirely new ritual that replaced the Jewish Passover.
But,
did Yeshua (Jesus) really intend to change or abolish Passover? Does the
evidence support the belief that He instituted a sacrament or a new
rite? Abstract: From the beginning of the world there were noted men of God, such as Abel, Enoch, Noah and Job (Job 1:1), who led exemplary lives and spoke for God, but one man is distinguished in Scripture as the father of the people of God and that man was a Hebrew (Gen 14:13). This article explores the nature of that faith, what happened to it in church history and what should be done to restore the true faith of the apostles. (4 pages PDF) Abstract: Down through church history Jacob has been the subject of much criticism from Gentile Bible scholars, teachers and ministers for allegedly stealing a blessing that belonged to Esau. But, could Jacob steal his own property? This article explores the evidence of the biblical record. (3 pages) Abstract: A mistake frequently occurring in Christian publications is labeling the Land given by divine covenant to Jacob and his posterity as “Palestine.” (3 pages) Abstract: One of the mysteries of history is what happened to the ten tribes of Israel after their defeat by Assyria. Did they disappear altogether or assimilate into British and American culture? (3 pages) Abstract: For well over a century the observance of the seventh day as the Sabbath by various churches has provoked considerable discussion and not a little opposition from other churches. So, which day is the Sabbath and how does God intend for His people to honor the Fourth Commandment? (6 pages) Scripture vs. Replacement Theology Abstract: Replacement Theology contends that the (Gentile) Church replaced Israel in God’s affections. Yet, the evidence of the New Covenant Writings is overwhelmingly against Replacement Theology. (3 pages) Abstract: Who has the right to claim to be Jewish? This is a topic of much concern today because of Jewish emigration to Israel and the claims of various Gentile groups to Jewish identity. The answer is not inconsequential. (5 pages) Abstract: Many Christians, aided by Gentile translations, have misinterpreted Paul's phrase "under Law" to effectively nullify obedience to God's commandments. The phrase should be translated "under legalism," a very different controversy between Jesus and the Pharisees than commonly understood. (6 pages)

Disciple's Amidah.
The Amidah
is the most important Jewish prayer, dating back to the 5th
century BCE. Jesus prayed this prayer when He went to synagogue worship. The word Amidah
literally means standing, because it is recited while standing. It is also
known as Sh’moneh Esrei, meaning eighteen (8+10), because it consists
of eighteen blessings.
The Disciple's Amidah illustrates how the Jewish disciples of
Yeshua may have prayed using this format. Feel free to
pray each category in your own words. Similar in concept to the Four Spiritual Laws, the Five Jewish Laws is a simple tool to introduce a person to the Jewish Messiah using only Scriptures from the Jewish Bible. A History of Hate Most Christians are probably unaware of the centuries of open hostility endured by Jews, particularly at the hands of professed Christians in violation of 1 Corinthians 10:32. Jews have faced inexplicable prejudice, discrimination, coerced conversions to Christianity, forced expulsion from many countries, mob violence and mass murder. To obtain a quick understanding consult these two articles: Antisemitism, a Wikipedia article, which summarizes major anti-Jewish activities by century, and A Brief Chronology of anti-Semitism, which lists major events by year since the 3rd century BCE.
