I believe the best resources for studying the Bible, especially the apostolic canon (New Testament), are those that explain the Jewish or Hebrew language, culture and roots of the Scripture text. After all, the Bible is an ancient book written by Jews to Jews and Gentiles about subjects revealed to Jews in their own language. Failure to take into account the Jewish context can only result in a faulty understanding and interpretation. Many of the works listed below are written by Messianic Jewish scholars, who are generally ignored by Christian commentaries and Christian scholarly works.

Works by David Flusser, Orthodox Jew
These titles are included because they provide valuable information on Second Temple Judaism and the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. David Flusser (1917-2000) was a professor of Early Christianity and Judaism of the Second Temple Period at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Flusser worked closely with Christian scholar Robert Lindsey and together they laid the foundations for a school of New Testament research, known today as the Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research.
